WASH & DRY

HAND STRIP
The removal a dog’s dead coat either by hand or a stripping knife. This allows the new wire coat to grow through whilst maintaining the texture and colour of the coat. Hand stripping should be done on a 4 to 12 weekly basis but does depend on the individual coat, temperament, and condition of the dog. Hand stripping is only done on wiry coat breeds such as the Border Terrier, Airedale Terrier and Schnauzer.
Not all dogs have the suitable coat for hand stripping but once we have had a look and feel of your dog’s coat, we can then advise you on what is the best grooming option. Commonly, neutered dogs may not be suitable for hand stripping as changes in hormones can affect the coat.
We recommend a bath with the new spa bath or 3 days before or after hand stripping has been carried out (Bathing is not included in the hand stripping price)
Please be aware if the coat is very thick or is harder to pull out, there may be an additional charge.

PUPPY GROOM
To make sure your puppy has a positive first experience this is the perfect introduction for a young dog to get used to the grooming experience. Bringing your puppy into the grooming experience from an early age means they will feel comfortable getting groomed and styled rather than being nervous and scared of the whole grooming process. This also allows us to introduce the grooming equipment such as the clippers and dryer to them.
